HAPPY HOLIDAYS

As you can see my Xmas tree is up and lit. lol!!

I just love Xmas time. It's a time to love and be loved. Today marks the start of my holiday so i am taking a little break from cyberspace. Don't worry guys. Xmas this year is so full of promise for me and I'll fill you in when i can along the step of the way.

I am discovering things about myself lately. See i have a short fuse that burns out quickly. Which means i could get pissed off quickly but if you let the moment pass, we're cool once again. My anger never runs deep and i thought that was a really good trait.

Lately i am told it's not. That i need anger management. ME!!!!!!
If i never flared up or got pissed is that not changing who i am? Do i not cease to be me? Will i bottle it all up inside and one day go loco as is the norm these days?

I really don't know. I am all for being a better person and all but i cant be all sweetness and light all the time.

Another character flaw i am accused of is talking down to people. Do i really do that? I always thought i was just blunt. As in if i feel you are being an idiot i will say so and damn the consequences. Life is too short to be fake and leave things that really matter unsaid. If you hurt me, make me happy or make me sad you better believe you will know. Not from my actions but from my words. Plain as night and day.

I hate when people try to change you. Doesn't that make you wander what attracted them to be your friend in the first place? I am who i am and i am here to stay. My resolution for the holidays is to try to be more tolerant but not so that the 'me' factor gets lost.

No more soul bearing jo!!! The credit card is maxed, Xmas bonus spent and the holiday ready to begin. (Drum roll) Unbiased marching through with a can of red paint and i am out on the town. lol!!

Have a nice holiday people. Remember what the season is about. Open your heart to new things and love like never before. God bless you all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

IKE TURNER DIED TODAY

Although i have been having it rough and hectic lately, the gbeborun side of me won't let me ignore what's happening in the world.
There i was watching the news this morning and the 'tori' hit.
Ike Turner is dead at the age of 76.

No one knows as yet the cause of death. I hope it was natural. I am a little tired of the other causes of death (disease, drugs as in Katie French RIP, etc).
If you are like me all you know about Ike is that he was this possessive 'Shrek' like dude who abused former wife Tina Turner. I am sure there is more to him than that.

Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today," her publicist said. "She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made."

Well they say a man's true life story comes out when he dies. So i will be waiting to see how the media brings out the details on him. Will they portray him a sinner or a saint? Let's wait and see.
I do hope he found Jesus before he died though.

BURKE BURKE BURKE

I am a total Dr Burke fan. In fact i nearly lost my love for Grey's anatomy when he left. But today i decided to join the 'Bionic woman' bandwagon. You know, to see what all the hype was about. And guess who i saw. You got it right. Dr. Burke (Isaiah Washington)!!!

So i hereby solemnly declare that i will now religiously watch Bionic woman in hopes of seeing glimpses of my number one cardio-thoracic surgeon. lol!

Update: Ohhhh Maaaaan!!!!
My dude dies in Episode 7. What kind of crap is that. Do i have to hunt the man all over all the tv shows in hollywood?
I feel like weeping. It just aint fair.

THIS CHRISTMAS

I usually just watch my movies online (Bad child that i am). But damn after watching it i am going to make sure that i take the whole family. This is the Christmas movie of the year and i feel can only be enjoyed in the big grand view of a cinema with friends and family.
It features Loretta Devine, Chris Brown, Sharon Leal, Regina King, Lauren London and Laz Alonzo to name a few.
Ladies and gentlemen, i give
you 'This Christmas'.

7 WEIRD THINGS

I got tagged by sholapacheco . This is a list of 7 weird things about me.

  1. Even though most times i am loud and the life of the party, i prefer staying home with a good book and the TV most days.
  2. I am actually a very shy person in some situations. I get embarrassed easily.
  3. My bark is a lot worse than my (almost non existent) bite.
  4. I cant eat eggs unless they are scrambled (No poached, boiled or any other type).
  5. I throw up whenever i eat any form of pasta or cheese.
  6. My spirit of adventure rarely shows up but does so with a bang sometimes and gets me into a whole lot of trouble.
  7. I don't like most girls. I'll rather hang out with the boys any day. Although the girls i do like, i love to bits.
Here are the rules
1) Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog

THE STORY OF MY FACE

Let me start by saying i am a body shop fan. I honestly could swear by their products. My nice face could be a result of either the nice cold air or body shop.

Some time back i proposed a local home made skin remedy. Na yam?

Well i was on a one way street of support niger stuvzz. So after a long exhausting travelling weekend, i went to the local shop to buy lime. On getting home i mixed this with my ogi (nee akamu, cornflour or pap).

Hmmm no bubbling liquid. Good so far. The smell of the lime was a little over powering but i could feel the courage pumping through me like a locomotive.

There i was on the brink of discovery or pain. So i stuck my finger in the bowl and applied it to my hand.

(See all of you!!! You think my sensitive skin face will take that kind try out?).

Anyways the inside of my arm is also sensitive so i felt if my arm can take it so can my face. So i waited.

One minute....

2 minutes...

5 minutes...

10minutes...

20 minutes...

Then off to wash. Hmm no difference whatsoever. Just the overpowering body odour of lime!!!

Well Rome wasn't built in a day so i moved up to a side of my face (just a patch mind you) that had no unbroken skin. I have been on it for a week now. No visible change that i can see. So i am back to my Body shop tea tree oil. My akamu stays in my cupboard for drinking and not face washing. lol!!

On celebrity take 2 all i can say is that Kunle Afolayan is out. There seems to be some problems going on with Ben Tv showing the wrong episode and all but i can let you in that getting it on the web via live streaming is being worked on.

Honestly the weeks building up to Christmas are crazy.

I got 4 weddings lined up already.

My tailor is going to have to get a big bonus as an incentive not to mess up.

My credit card is maxed out.

ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I better get presents this year o!! I amount of money i have spent on buying presents for people is obscene. But then God who sees me will rewards me (Sniff sniff).

I cant wait till next year. I am so excited. I know it is the year when great things shall happen for me. The devil can't stand me right now. 'Cause i have the knowledge of that which God has set aside for me. That truth is so liberating. My soul is far far above cloud 9. The principalities and powers in heavenly places are far beneath me. I am a conqueror. I could just go on and on but i wont. (You get the gist i am sure) lol!!

I will stop here and just ask everyone to envision what they want for next year. The bible says ' Commit your ways on to the Lord and he will establish your path'. Draw strength from Psalm 37.

Believe it people and pray your new year into existence from now.

Off the hook

Now it is confirmed that Naija boys are crazy!! I have no idea who sang this song. I came across it on Omosewa's blog and was laughing like mad. It sounds like something someone from Trybe records would put out. lol!!

It called Small stout.

SCAPE GOAT

Usually i consider myself current. Not so these days. Things slip by me because i have decided to get on the 'Life' band wagon. Whats the point of being on the outside looking in. Those days are behind me now.

I heard something happened today. The tori shocked the hell out of me. I really don't know why. I am so rarely shocked these days.
I don't know what to call it sef. Naivete, stupidity or just plain old Mr Greed. You decide. This time i am just on the fence.

Two sixteen year old WOMEN (yes i said women. 16 yrs old people are not kids) might be looking at up to 3yrs in a Ghanaian prison for drug smuggling. Cocaine to be precise.

Yasemin Vatansever and Yetunde Diya (Britico born kids. One with Cyprus blood and the other naija to the surface) were caught with 13lb (6kg) of cocaine (worth £300,000) in two laptop computer bags. They have had their day in court and were declared guilty today.

Well they are not the first to do this kind of stuvzzzz but they are the international example. I am not sure i believe the cock and bull tale about a man luring them to Ghana where he gave them the cocaine to carry back the the UK. There is more to it than meets the eye sha.

I just hope the families are able to stay strong through the ricochet effect of their daughters' actions.

A few weeks back it was a french group trying to get 103 kids from Chad to France for adoption. Don't they have enough kids in their country to adopt? I thought charity began at home.

I noticed something about Africans in general. We just get on with life and don't dwell on stuff (good or bad). We also have this laid back approach to rules and laws. We have this 'If it doesn't concern me or someone i know, it is none of my business' outlook on life'. Because of this, some people out there are exploiting the hell out of some countries.

So these cases go to show that if your ways are not straight be very very careful. Some people are trying to draw the line and lay down the law.
I doubt if corruption is being stopped totally. That will definitely take a while.
I however strongly believe that some countries are making a very public display of taking no nonsense. Commendable in it's own right. I just hope it lasts and is not a move to look good to the 'international community'.

CHRONICLES - TIRED DOESN'T COVER IT

Hey how was the weekend people? Wow!! Mine was really hectic. Anyone who says flying is glamorous is absolutely kolomental. The amount of time you waste getting to the airport, checking in, waiting for boarding, finally boarding (if the flight is not delayed), waiting for the plane to move (Because sometimes there is hold up on the runway), landing, going through customs, getting your luggage and finally going to your destination.

Pause!! I am so out of breathe. So now you know where my tired started from.

On to other things. I am not a 'popular person monger' but i noticed something weird on my flight. Jade Goody was on it. I thought babe was supposed to be loaded. What is she doing on my low cost air molue? See me o!!! The outfit was like a nice pink pj with a leather jacket. Abi na signature wear? I didn't dig at all o!! I did say hi but i ain't gonna snap no picture. Can't be caught doing razz stuvzzz like that. lol!! Didn't stop me from taking a long distance zoom back view picture though.

Anyways i could have stayed there to chat or gawk (whatever) but i had to run to find a nice quiet corner to fix my new contacts. Someone told me not to fly with the things if i didn't want to scratch my eyes out mid way. I don't know how true it is but i wasn't taking chances.

Imagine HAZEL!!!!!
The silly thing doesn't even show in my eyes. I got so tired of pointing it out to people. What is the point of glam accessories if they won't show. I am going off to order myself some nizee green ones jo!!

Sorry there is no celebrity takes 2 gist this week except we bid farewell to NOMORELOSS. I noticed that BenTv decided to show the one of 2 weeks ago. How now? Abegi!! I went off to watch Beowulf!! LOL!! (After i called Naija to get the gist on who was given the boot. Sorry Flaky)

(whisper) It was not very clear. Honestly i need to clear Ijebu from my blood. This weekend if i find time i am off to see it live in the cinema. It was really cool don't get me wrong but i was tired of the eye strain.

Anyways moving on. Church was at KICC. The place full no be small. Na floor i sit o!! Thank God i decided at the last minute to wear trousers instead of skirt. First i would have felt too 'butter' to sit on the floor in a skirt. And second the twins (cold 6 degrees and wind xx knots) will have thoroughly beat the shege out of me. lol!!! But it was really fun. I had a nice time. The message was all about being you. All that denge pose aside. It is really too much energy and money. I believe if you are 'correct' you don't need to work hard at it. You just are. (Yes i am one of those that just are). lol!!

So as pe i had Monday off (jealous anyone?) I went to do early Christmas shopping in Swindon. Na who send me? Shopping in fun and secretly i think built into the genes of every female alive. It was surprisingly tiring though. I just kept eating claiming my blood sugar was low (there goes my diet. Damn).

Tuesday was not spectacular until i reached Gatwick airport. Checkin was a problem because the computer was saying that the whole flight had checked in online. How now? With 30 of us lining up? I was in front so no toilet break sef until i check in. Finally got it done and more of the girly shopping. Gatwick i swear is sinful. My cards are maxed and wallet light so no more of that madness till next year.

Anyways now i am back in full gear, i will get on my phone to see wetin dey happen all round and will be back. Ohh Bimby has updated. I am tired of the whole weekly update thing jo. Suspense dey kill me so hear me o!! I will just sit back and wait for it to land Books etc. and buy my copy!! lol!!

Before i forget for those wishing for results on my skin experiment i am going to buy lime today o!! If i burn i know who to blame.

Abeg dey pray. As we come to this end of year the winches are lining the road looking for blood. Despite and inspite of them we will all see next year with joy o!!!
All the plans of the devil shall fail concerning us in Jesus name.

Also pray for Overwhelmed Naija babe who was in an accident with her momsie on Sunday. Pray for her speedy recovery and that this kind katakata will never find her again.

LOCAL SKIN REMEDIES

I was just looking for skin remedies and you will not believe what i found. Keep the outcry down!!! I know i have good skin (well on my face anyway) but lately i have been getting these dry patches on my skin.
A regular mask isn't working and drinking bottles of water is just making me feel bloated. Hence my journey into the home made remedy world.
I am sure you'll be shocked. Abeg could someone please go and use it so i can know if it works (batting my eyelashes betty boo style).

If no one hears my plea i will try it out next week lol!! Well here it is!!

BLEMISHED SKIN
Ingredients:
1 ripe tomato (chopped)
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of instant oatmeal

Blend all ingredients together. Apply to the skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on the blemished areas. Add more oatmeal if necessary to thicken the mask and then wipe it off after 10 minutes with a wash cloth dipped in warm water.

HERBAL FACIAL MASK
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of Ogi (pap, akamu, cornflour or whatever you want to call it. lol!!)
2 medium size of lime

Slice lime and squeeze out juice. Mix the raw pap with the lime juice. Apply on your face thoroughly. Leave for 20 minutes. Then wash off with warm water.

If you have sensitive skin please don't try it o!! Don't go and say 'unbiased' sent you message.
It all sounds totally bizarre but if it works i am all for it. All my fingers and toes are crossed.
Please pray i don't hurt myself.

When good ideas go bad.

There i was on my journey of gbeborun wandering what's new in the world. And then i came up with this story.

At first i thought 'Are there really people as dumb as ....that?'.

Basically the story is that a supposedly mature 66yrs old man from Washington, US (Which other country could this madness arise from?) injured himself after attempting to loosen a stiff wheel nut by blasting it with his gun.

He was repairing his Lincoln Continental outside his home when the blonde moment took place.
Bobo had been repairing the car for 2 weeks so na tire change remain. So he removed all the nuts but one on the right rear wheel.

And this stupid nut wouldn't budge. He turned, twisted, grunted all to no avail. There was no other option but to go get the 12-gauge shotgun and use it like a surgical instrument. If he aimed right the bullet would hit the side of the nut and loosen it. (This man was not drunk i must add just in the 'zone').

Instead of the expected end (the nut loosening), he was peppered with buckshot and debris.

He sustained injuries from his feet to the middle of his abdomen, with some pellets reaching as high as his chin.

Ohh well put that down to a good idea gone bad. lol!!!

This is just by the way. I am so pizzzed off.
Too much money dey run R.K Rowling's bele!!!

Rowling announced that Dumbledore was gay to a packed house in New York's Carnegie Hall as part of her US book tour in October.

Me i ain't such a harry potter fan though i like the films. Secretly i thought the order of the Phoenix was rubbish compared to earlier editions but then Man U fans don't jump ship just because the team lost one game so i am hanging tough.

We never asked for more information on the character so why this babe go do this kind yamayama tin!!!!

All these films these days sef. If i manage to watch them (With my strong adult and stubborn mindsets), my kids no go watch. Like that nonsense 'Golden compass' that talks about demons being a child's spirit guide.

Disney as far as i am concerned has just gone down the toilet. We still were on their side after 'Brother Bear' (Na lie na Phil Collins and Tina Turner save them) but with their latest releases? My child shall not watch such o!!

What happened to sleeping beauty and Cinderella he?
Anyway i have work to do. Tori over for the day!!

As i was just being lazy around cyber space i came across Ayo Ogunmakin . The song is called 'Life is real' from her album 'Joyful' (2006). I am just falling in love with it all over again. The video is really wonderful stuvzzz from a niger babe. She reminds me so much of SADE.

NA OVERDO BEND CRAYFISH

OMG!!! Who send me o?? I hurt all over!!!
Well before i start my complaining and whining how was your weekend? Mine has been non stop.

Friday started with something i have not seen in 2 yrs of driving. My darling 'Betty' (my car o!!) started to moan and rumble like an aeroplane. Imagine !!! See me o!!! Small 1.1cc engine come dey sound like twin turbo.

So i had to take her to get her exhaust pipe fixed. See the bill that mechanic gave me for one hour work just to give me peace. Hiss!! Na for God hand sha.

Feeling like some super hero when i got home i brought out the big guns (left). Yes people!! My Lateral Thigh Trainer. As advertised to give you that most sought after hips, thighs and abs.

Shebi 10,000 step challenge was going nowhere so i wanted to step up my game. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm somebody should have warned me. After 5 mins my legs were shaking like jelly fish. The part of my bed i fell on was the part i slept on o!!

So Saturday was back to walking. During my walk like any normal female my mind, eye and pocket started to wander. You see my glasses have been missing for like 3 months now. So on impulse as pe i was beside optometrist shop i decided to do eye test and get a new pair.

That is how the woman said i had astigmatism. She tried explaining but i was not listening o!! Which kind oyinbo disease is that sef? I sha moved on and picked some frames. Can't really say they were bonzzz o!! Pocket had to have his say in the matter.
As i was there this little me appeared on my shoulder.

Unbiased why are you getting glasses? Get contacts. Not just contacts but coloured ones.

Since the second little me didn't appear na so i listen and ordered the coloured contacts. Just as i was leaving the babe called me back.

'Miss Unbiased you have to undergo training in inserting and removing the contacts before we order your own for you'.

Haaaaaaaa who send me!! People that wear contacts. Can you remember the first day that foreign thing entered your eye and how you poked your eyes endlessly just to get them out? My eyes were so red i thought for sure blood should have been flowing. Thank God for small mercies sha. See what we people go through in the name of fyneness.

I sha carried my korokoro eyes come home to watch Celebrity takes 2 which was a cool improvement on the previous weeks. I hear next week is hip hop so i am definitely going to be hooked to my tv screen. lol!!

Well the reason for the previous gripping is that i joined the gym. Since big guns LTT and walking was not working i thought that my inspiration would come from seeing other people exercise.
After 45mins i quit o!! Maybe on Wednesday i will try again.

The quest of the girl who wants a 4 pack never ends. lol!!

Tata!! I am off to Bimbylads Blog!! Tori has been updated!!
Honestly you people need to read from beginning o!!
Your blood thirsty nature will be revealed.
You will bay for Bode and Jenny's blood like me.
And hopefully become an addicted Eniola Fan.
Catwalq if you are reading this you wrote the ode to the wrong person.
Write Oriki to Eniola!!!!!

WE HAVE ALL LOST ONE

Usually i blog about most things but myself. Something happened recently that made me look at myself. I am reflecting and need to get it all out so here it goes (fingers crossed).

All through secondary school i always felt like i was on the outside looking in. You know that parasitic feeling of feeding off emotions. Like you just watch people and when they laugh, you laugh. When they cry, you cry. But you never actively contribute to the conversation or the drama going on.

That's kinda how i felt. Some people took that quietness for snobbery but that wasn't true. I joined the school in JS2. When all the friendships, ties and clicks were formed. I truly felt lost. I was teased my first week about it and that only made me retreat more. I used to be the leader of the pack and now i was like a ship without a sail. I felt absolutely dreadful.
I am sure that's why i am so outgoing now. I am probably making up for those 5years in my life when i hid who i really am from the world.

There were a few ties i made. Bobby, Haitian, longlocks, Chinese eyes and Angelfish. They made life cool at time. Out them all i miss Chinese eyes the most (Maybe because i cant get to her anymore).
She was my seat mate at some point and that was when our bond was formed. I can't forget the day she came to class bursting with joy about her sister. See they were 7 kids (6 girls and a boy). She was the sixth girl so almost the baby. lol!!

Well let me get back. Hmmmm her sister had gone for a crusade and a life changing miracle had occurred. Her sister had received something that money could never buy. Suddenly her sister's genotype had changed. Imagine going form SS to AA. I could hear her amazement and near disbelief despite the living proof.

Either way whether she believe in miracles or not this was her shot at normalcy as well. 'I am going for that crusade when we are on holiday. It could be my chance as well', she said.
Then it hit me. My darling friend has sickle cell anemia. You would never know. She was so active. There was an unnatural habit of glucose drinking but then everybody liked glucose.
I had heard tales and fear gripped me but she was like a sun shinning brightly on a rainy day. I had to believe with her and support her.
I remember the day i went to see her at home. I wanted to meet her 5 sisters whom i had heard so much about. I loved them site unknown already. There was aje-butter unbiased asking people how to take a bus from ikorodu town to festac. My 1st ever jamming with public transport. How i made it i will never know. lol!!

She looked happy to see me which made up for it. We went on a long trip around festac to see all our classmates in the area. People there is nothing like getting with girl friends and having girl gist. (Some call it gossip but i call it productive conversation stress relief).

After SSCE i kept planning to go on a festac cruise again only for the news to reach me.
A crisis had occurred and Chinese eyes was no more. My world collapse and i raged. At what was fair in giving back one daughter only to take another away? I didn't have that many friends so why take away the one i had planned to be on my wedding train. It hurt a lot and tears fill my eyes in memory.

I just want to say that the agony never really goes away. It dulled to a throbbing ache. 10years on and the love is ever strong.
Chinese eyes thanks for being a silver lining in my cloud.
Thanks for being a sister when i needed one.
Thanks for all the notes you slipped me in class that made me laugh.
Thanks for living despite the odds.
Thanks for being my friend.

Why did my mind go down this road. Well a friend of mine is on a project about sickle cell anaemia. We have all lost someone or know someone lost someone to this so i think it is worth supporting.

Tosyn Bucknor :
From November / December to next year, i will be working on a project to create awareness for Sickle-Cell. I will be doing this by forming sickle-cell clubs in secondary schools and also talking with students there. I also hope to provide drugs for underprivileged sicklers in homes, and then show adult sicklers living well with the disease. This project is part of a LEAP Africa assignment but is also personal seeing as i am a sickler myself. I can't go this project alone and i was hoping that i could count on your support in anyway possible.I will be needing help with

  1. Fundraising
  2. Media
  3. Actual work of going round schools, orphanages, etc
  4. Actual work of getting stories of triumph from adult sicklers
  5. Prayers!
  6. Other ways i have not fathomed yet

Please send me a message on sharedazzle@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping.

There are more details out and i will make them available in another post. Join the band wagon guys because this is something that indeed does affect us all. Think about it. Even if it is just when you want to get married and are checking your partners geno. lol!!

AM I FAILING?

Last week people i noticed something horrible. You know that little bump we get just at the waist band somewhere below the belly button? Well it was expanding. Not because i was pregnant (lol!!) but because i was basically lazy.

Lets list my hobbies out. Reading (couch potato), watching tv (couch potato), browsing (couch potato), blogging (couch potato), chatting on the phone (still couch potato), etc.

Do you notice the trend here? Add that to my love for chips and eggs. Let's not even talk about the pounded yam, white bread, home-made meatpies and other related fatty foods. Thanks to Catwalq for making me start over eating with her food foto blog post.

Well let me get back on track. As i was saying. I have been over eating and not exercising. My weight remained constant at 65kg so i thought all was well. This weekend it changed to 68kg. I kid you not!!! I am no longer in the flat bellesquad. I WAS mad as hell and angry enough to do something. So i bought a pedometer. It is beautiful. Looks like a jewellery pin. Anyways i got on the 10,000 steps a day challenge.

NA YAM?

Let me tell you what happened.

Day 1 - 4200 steps

Day 2 - 1910 steps

Day 3 - 1740 steps

Day 4 - 2650 steps

Day 5 - 1200 steps

Complete failure. So am i destined to be full figured? If i had a child i would have used that as an excuse for sure. Well to compensate i did 100 sit ups tonight. Will it work? i really don't know.

I know blogging about it will motivate me a little so please keep you fingers crossed for me. If you want to support me in prayer the following prayer points should prove useful:

  1. Pray the spirit of exercise and determination into me.
  2. May the spirit of excess eating be banished from my life.
  3. May i see the salvation of my body from excess flesh.
  4. May my Sexy' body return to it's former glory.
  5. May anorexia not find me in the attempt.
Okay that is enough drama but you get my drift. So i am off to be dreaming about dumb bells. tata.

FOREVER IN MY HEART

Lara George (nee Bajomo) has finally released her solo album. It's currently available at Nu Metro (Well for niger pple - We 'iyoku' will have to wait for amazon or itunes. lol).

The title of the album is 'Forever in my heart'.
I must really say that the members of KUSH have all done very well for themselves individually. It's one of those few success stories that happen when a band or group breaks up. I was only able to put up one of her singles but you can listen to a few other tracks on her myspace page.

It's nice and soft and reminds me a little of TY's style. I guess like minds think alike.

Lara George is a 29 yr old soulful singer whose music career started when she became part of a music group in the University of Lagos Nigeria where she studied Architecture. She went on to be a part of the very well known Nigerian 3-girl group called KUSH. Lara is deeply passionate about her music and truly believes in moving lives in a positive direction with the message in it. Speaking on this topic, she says....' I believe that life should have meaning and everything we do should lead us somewhere...and I just feel that since music is like a mirror of our lives, it should do exactly the same thing.'

I just thank God that marriage and family didn't seem to stop her from pushing her career forward. Where she finds the time i will never know.

Celebrity Takes 2 week 4

So people. Celebrity takes 2 was full of tori (katakata, gist etc) this week.

We had a guest judge in the form of Stella Damasus Aboderin. She was there looking stunning as usual. Is it just me or has anyone noticed her trademark chewing gum? In most of her interviews it is never missing lol!!!

It was nice to have her and her fellow actors (Omotola and Funmi) seemed to appreciate her presence.
The whole shebang had an opening dance by the Spirit of David to First love (by Avalon). It was really nice to see yoyin dancing again (wink wink).Well this week was Cha-cha week. So i will be giving a few comment on each celebrity as well as the judges score. This score however doesnt determine who is given the boot home whatsoever. It is all down to the votes. Voting details will be beside each celebrity. As usual in form of my 'special' ranking. lol!

OMOWUNMI AKINNIFESI

Before nko? Who i for pick as my number one? Babes is the only one who had a song that matched the dance style and she worked the hell out of it. The dance was to Conga by Gloria Estafan.
Judges Score: 34

BRYAN OKWARA

Mr Man was stunning but i still think his partner makes him look far better than he is.
Song: 180 degrees by Motivo
Judges Score: 27

SOUND SULTAN
There is some cheating going on because i think this guy actually does dance professionally. You cant be that good can you? hmmmmmmm
Song: Fix it by Canton Jones
Judges Score: 33

FUNLOLA AOFIYEBI

How the hell can you dance the cha cha to that kind of song. It was alright but i wasn't overtly moved.
Song: Now that we found love by Heavy D
Judges Score: Toilet break prevented me from getting that one. Sorry.

ZIZI CARDOW

Her performance was okay
Song: Sway by Pussy Cat dolls
Judges Score: A snack break prevented me from getting that one. Sorry.

TARA DUROTOYE

She had it going on. It was alright. A little stiff though.
Song: Freeborn by Fugitive
Judges Score: 20

OMOTOLA JALADE EKIENDE
Dancing cha cha to a rock song? I think that was too ambitious. And her balance wasn't too on point.
Song: What the world will never take by Hillsong
Judges Score: 17.

PASUNMA WONDER

Fuji bobo tried sha. But his partner fell during the dance. Sequence was off. His partner ignored the basic rule of latin dancing and her waist was not doing that sexy sway. It was almost like cheer leading in slow motion. (Now i feel totally rotten for saying that)
Song: Perfect peace by Andrae Crouch
Judges Score: 14.

KUNLE AFOLAYAN

His costuming left a lot to be desired. He put in a good effort but unfortunately not good enough.
Song: I like it by Blackout all stars
Judges Score: 23

NOMORELOSS
With Nomoreloss i think it is loss. The dance was just lazy. He basically did nothing but walk up and down the stage and twirl his partner around.
Song: Tomorrow by Out of Eden
Judges Score: 18.

X-Factor Emily made to quit?

X Factor finalist Emily Nakanda has pulled out of the show after she was caught attacking a school mate in a mobile phone video!!

I personally don't think 15 is too young to understand that when you are in the public eye no matter the provocation you are not allowed that kind of stupid behaviour.

The thing that really irritates me is the 'threat' she made to the girl.
About HAIR PULLING. Are you blonde? There is no way to say this in a politically correct tone so i will just come out with it. Black girls don't pull hair!!!!!

At least that is better than the video that came out with her threatening to cut out boy's eyes. I hate seeing things like this i swear. Then the excuse she will use is that she was raised with gang culture around her. Your life is what you make off it. Jason was not raised a mass murderer.
Now as punishment her momsie has taken her off the show. (It could be that x-actor booted her out for bad publicity sha).
Anyways I just thought the girl was pretty. Since the auditions she has not been able to sing to save her life. Damn shame.
This years talent is not as good as last years though.

A spokeswoman for the show said: "In response to the stories in the papers this week regarding Emily Nakanda, we have conducted our own investigations into the matter and we can confirm that she has chosen to withdraw herself from the competition with immediate effect."
Emily's mother Louis Friberg said the family was "very disappointed" with her daughter's behaviour.

Marry me

'Cristina, I could promise to hold you, and to cherish you. I could promise to be there, in sickness and in health. I could say till death do us part.
But I won't. Those vows are for optimistic couples, the ones full of hope.
I do not stand here on my wedding day optimistic or full of hope. I am not optimistic. I am not hopeful.
I am sure. I am steady.
And I know I'm a heart man. I take 'em apart, put 'em back together, I hold them in my hands. I am a heart man.
So this, I am sure. You are my partner. My lover. My very best friend. My heart...My heart beats for you. And on this day, the day of our wedding, I promise you this. I promise you to lay my heart in the palm of your hands, I promise you... me.
--Isaiah Washington as Dr. Preston Burke

I support Addison. Dump yang and marry me!!!! Honestly and some man will walk up to you without research and just say the usual vows. I am on the 'write your vows' band wagon. Not mushy stuvzzzz but tell me the truth in front of God and you better stick to it.
I was pissed off when Burke left Grey's anatomy but it's all good. I am fine.

I was visiting Wedding vogue and watched this proposal video. You need to check it out.

http://www.rockyandkrystal.com/

The video is a little on the long side but if you make it through you just might cry. What really touch me was that everywhere she went she saw people who have significant meaning in her life and they all prayer for her. It was seriously touching so please take a look. I am going back to work now before i get blognapped.

Celebrity Takes 2 week 3

First things first. In this i cant be unbiased. I got a problem with one of the judges. Dayo Laidi!! I know he is supposed to have his own dance company and has been in the business of dance for 21 years blah blah blah. That doesn't mean he knows what he is saying. Imagine putting Pasuma over Omowunmi Akinnifesi. I was mad as a hatter so i did some tuning out. Anyways i didn't grab the whole show but i must have watched the best parts (see me consoling my self). This week was a big improvement in the whole competition so below are my comments. (They are ranked according to my favorites).

OMOWUNMI AKINNIFESI
The babe must have thought she was Beyonce. She could have been right. lol!! It was like being in a 'Niger' club and seeing those babes you dare not dance near in case they make you look bad. She could be a winner. Dayo better change his tune on this babe or he will have enemies.
Judges Score - 21

BRYAN OKWARA
My babe daddy!! (I wish). The boy looked good and sharp. Very impressive. I don't know if it is him or he just has a wonderful partner. Either way he executed a dance to dismissed (by Zoegirl) perfectly.
Judges Score - 23

SOUND SULTAN
I have been down playing this dude and that just ain't right. He has been consistently good so lets give him a thumbs up people. He did a good salsa number and me likes!!
Judges Score - 23

FUNLOLA AOFIYEBI
Her entrance with her leading in her partner on a chain like a dog was dramatic. The dance routine that followed was not as great. But good effort though. She ain't a dancer so we give an A for effort.
Judges Score - 19

OMOTOLA JALADE-EKIENDE
Did a dance to one of the lion king soundtracks. Too much acting and not enough dance content. But her costume (cat suit complete with whiskers) was wicked. Her website is off the hook. Click on her name to go there.
Judges Score - 20

PASUMA WONDER
I have nothing against this dude personally but i feel this week he failed. He danced to Ayefele. People that is his element but dude was moving like an AJEBUTTER. Damn what happen!!!! I was mad disappointed but the judges must have seen something i didn't cause he got top marks.
Judges Score - 23

I do apologise that the gist is not complete. Sorry but i missed Kunle Afolayan, Zizi Cardow, Nomoreless and Tara Durotoye. Voting has started though so someone will be going off soon.

JEALOUSY

I went to church today and the visiting preacher made me think about something i don't really dwell on. JEALOUSY. It was funny to see jealousy in the bible.
See there was this priest called Asaph who wrote the 73rd psalm and the guy had a problem with jealousy and he blogged about it (in the Bible of all places)!!

You could read the whole psalm here but these are just the verses that i focused on.

1-5 God is truly good to Israel, especially to everyone with a pure heart. But I almost stumbled and fell, because it made me jealous to see proud and evil people and to watch them prosper. They never have to suffer, they stay healthy, and they don't have troubles like everyone else.

13-14 What good did it do me to keep my thoughts pure and refuse to do wrong? I am sick all day, and I am punished each morning.
17 Then I went to your temple, and there I understood.

See this priest had a problem with seeing people who didn't believe in God at all prospering while he suffered. He felt cheated. Then he went to the temple and a wave of understanding hit him. It is not about how blessed we are on earth but what happens after we leave this place.

Not everyone believes in God or the hereafter but Nicole Nordemen (above) put it brilliantly in her song 'What if'?
She said
What if you're right?
And he was just another nice guy
What if you're right?
What if it's true?
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it's true?
What if he takes his place in history

With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then?

But what if you're wrong?
What if there's more?
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for?..........

Well basically she was trying to say some people don't believe in God and they may be right BUT what if they are wrong and they find out too late.
What if this 'rapture of the saints' is really true.
What if you have basically lived your life in a true way and kept yourself pure like Asaph and something small made you miss it. A little lie, a short session of masturbation, cheating, bullying,......................................the list doesn't end.
I think the best way to live is to do so like that minute will be your last. Live life to the full but be constantly aware of what goes on after life is over. Trivial stuff like jealousy wont be such a problem then.

Wow cant believe i finished that. How was that for my first ever blog sermon. lol!!
